“The first real set photos have arrived from director J.J. Abrams upcoming sequel Star Trek 2, giving us our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch, whose character has still not been revealed, though the pictures below seem to indicate that he is in fact a villain. It is speculated that Benedict Cumberbatch is wearing a Starfleet uniform under his coat, and was most likely a friend before revealing himself as a foe. Here, we see Spock (Zachary Quinto) delivering his signature Pinch to this unknown baddie, followed by a scene that finds Uhura facing off against Cumberbatch with her phaser set to kill in order to save Spock’s life. The actors are seen working on “The Space Barge Set” located at Paramount Studios.”
